How VerityScript verifies providers.
Every provider on VerityScript is checked against five independent dimensions before it can be ranked. Verification runs before ranking — paid sponsorship does not change the score, and a flagged seller is never surfaced next to a compliant provider.
Clinician license lookup per state
Every prescribing clinician on a VerityScript-listed provider is matched against the active state medical board registry in the state where the patient encounter occurs. We pull the license number, expiration date, and any disciplinary action before the provider can appear in results — and we re-check on a recurring cadence so a lapsed license pulls a provider out of ranking before a buyer ever sees them.
NABP pharmacy record check
Every dispensing pharmacy is cross-referenced against the NABP database and the state board of pharmacy. We confirm a current active license, the pharmacy’s NABP accreditation status, and a clean disciplinary record. Pharmacies flagged by NABP or working without a verifiable state license disqualify the provider from being ranked — the closest an unverified pharmacy gets to our result page is a red flag.
Compounding-vs-brand separation
A provider that dispenses a 503A-compounded GLP-1 is never presented in the same row as one that dispenses the FDA-approved brand. We surface the compounding status on every result card and on every provider detail page, so the buyer is never asked to compare a compounded semaglutide offer against a brand-name tirzepatide offer as if they were equivalent.
All-in monthly cost capture (shipping + consultation included)
The headline price a provider advertises is not the figure VerityScript ranks. We compute a real monthly cost that includes the subscription, the required clinician consultation fee, shipping, and any labs the provider bundles as a precondition. Two providers advertising $99/month can land $189 and $312 once the actual monthly outflow is added up — that gap is what VerityScript reports.
Red-flag criteria that cause a seller to be flagged rather than ranked
A seller is removed from ranking and surfaced as a red flag when any of the following trips: a clinician encounter that is not documented before the prescription ships; a subscription enrolled before a buyer can see the cancellation path; pricing that materially differs from the advertised monthly figure once shipping and consult fees are added; or any clinician or pharmacy credential we cannot independently verify. Flagged sellers appear in their own area — never mixed into compliant provider rankings.
